Two years ago we started to dream and desire about the development of our own MPPT. We desired a MPPT design that is customizable, affordable and match seamlessly with the voltage and current ranges of the solar panels and with the battery regulations of the solar race. This MPPT project ended up to become a side project that we worked on during long train trips and Sundays, during the last two years we made a prototype with a single phase boost circuit, spoke to the TU Delft Solar Boat Team ( they advised us to look at dual phase ) and started calculating, simulating and designing a dual phase system. Now, two years later we can finally get our hands dirty and start flowing some real currents! Hopefully this dual phase implementation of this second prototype is close to a final result.
