We are looking to converse with people that are actually building things. Today, tomorrow, every day. We build because we have to. And people that are building electronics every day also know what they like in part search. We want to hear how you currently discover components and what can be done to improve.
What should you expect from joining this project? You'll hear about the latest ideas in search, get to give early feedback and we will make sure you find the parts you need for your project.
From there we have made strides towards opening up the site as we could. Getting to the point where we are able to make the full search experience open to the public took some time, but we heard how important it was.
The insider scoop is that we will soon be completely opening to the public in the next few weeks.
We won't be sharing this any place other than on the Parts.io Labs page, because we want to hear from all of you first. We appreciated the feedback from the Hackaday community and will continue to focus on the users that are making things and regularly searching for components. If you're not already a member of the Parts.io Labs group on Hackaday.io, we highly encourage joining (click the "Request to join this project" link).
There's a public API for the pricing and availability (the Supplyframe API: http://dev.supplyframe.com). Parts.io integrates data sources that we cannot release to the public, so the parametric data needs to stay internal for now.

What kind of stuff are you working on?
