FabScan Pi - 3D Laser Scanner

The new version is almost ready. I changed a lot of fronted stuff. Some major bugs are fixed. Finally i also finished the MeshLab integration. The FabScanPi is now able to generate meshes of the point clouds. But that is not enough... you are able to generate textured meshes within the new version.

During the last weekend i added MeshLab support to the FabScanPi Server. MeshLab can be used for meshing and postprocessing the pointcloud. It can be called within the FabScan Pi Frontend. Here are some pictures ...

We are working on a new FabScanPi enclosure. It is discussed at the FabScan google group.

A new software release is out:

• fixed issue #3 server hangs when laser not detected
• fixed issue #12 internet connection is no longer needed, added font-awsome fonts to www
• scanner does start even if serial or camera connection fails, a message is shown in frontend now
• fixed mjepeg connection error bug, stack trace is not longer shown in log
• fixed some bugs in FSCamera.py
• added new frontend with saturation slider
• added funtions to support camera saturation adjustment
• prepared multilingual support (en only until now)

Yesterday a new episode of Dremels Youtube show called "Hammertime" came out. They visited the FabLab Aachen and built a FabScan 3D Scanner.

Last week i finished the work on the new FabScan Pi Software. I will build some Debian Packages this weekend and do a release until the beginning of next week.
