This is one of the simplest Arduino compatible board. In a 18mm x 18mm sized board, it has only Atmega328 chip on the top side of the pcb while other side consists of 8 mHz crystal and AMS1117 voltage regualtor as well as with some capacitors and a resistor.
  • 1 × Atmega328 Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, DSPs / ARM, RISC-Based Microcontrollers
  • 1 × AMS1117 (3.3v regulator)
  • 1 × 8 mHz Crystal
  • 2 × 22pF Capacitor
  • 2 × 1 uF Capacitor

I love it. One could solder two rows of the pins on one side, and two on the other, still making it breadboard-compatible.
