Just quick update, because I will order first prototype boards now, because the square inch prize requires assembled projects.
The only thing I changed to last time is the orientation of some LEDs. In this first prototype I will not try charliepixeling or scanning, but maybe later (I will kept that in mind). Out of curiosity I tried black solder mask in the renadering and ( @Andrew Starr ) this looks quite good.

Silicone mold of an original? Dripping slowly and maybe put it in a vacuum chamber. No idea, I just like watching youtube videos.

If you decide to go through with the black solder mask, I recommend pcbway.com. I use them because they are a factor of 3 or 4 times cheaper than OSH Park (which is important if, like me, you're making a boatload of small boards), quality is good, and so is customer support.

They really have earned my rage for spamming me aggressively here on hackaday.io. I'd rather go to any other pcb maker.

Black solder mask is not that rare. Also dirtypcbs.com or elecrow.com do offer them.

Yikes. I wasn't aware they did that. Well, there's also dirtypcbs.com - they can do a black solder mask, and prices look pretty good.

There is this convenient comparison of pcb makers: http://pcbshopper.com/

It lost the "TIL appeal" with the black solder mask ;-) But the point has never been to make a perfect clone, but to make a better replacement. And in this regard, you're delivering ;-)
