In 2014, 5650 Indian farmers had committed suicide. Our team is from a village in the outskirts of Bangalore, India. We have seen real estate take over the farming business rapidly recently. We are a team of hackers, biologists, product designers and entrepreneurs making agriculture, more accessible and profitable as a business venture for the Indian rural youth.
Our prototype Aquaponics setup yields plants more than 50% faster than soil based setups, is rainfall independent, 1000 sqft space is enough to earn 15,000 rupees per harvest cycle, without using pesticides or fertilizers. Plus, no extra farm labor required!

the idea I have had is to just build a multistory building about 300 feet X 300 feet. Each floor about 8 to 10 feet high. At the top have a pond with various fish (aquaponics), and use robotics to do all the planting and harvesting. There is a company in Chicago where they converted an old cardboard manufacturing company and they maintain several aquaponic systems with mulitple shelves of various plants.
