11Configure your DAW
In order for the controller to be fully integrated with the Turnado plugin software, the DAW / plugin host software must allow the following MIDI routings:
- MIDI-in -> Turnado
- Turnado -> MIDI-out
Here is how you would set this up in Ableton Live, where you want Turnado running on an audio track:
- Connect the controller to your computer via USB, where it'll appear as a MIDI device called 'Teensy MIDI'
- Create a new audio track and put an instance of Turnado on it
- Create a new MIDI track and give it the following settings:
- MIDI From - 'Teensy MIDI'
- Channel - the channel of the controller (default - 1)
- MIDI To - The track running Turnado
- Create a second new MIDI track and give it the following setting:
- MIDI From - The track running Turnado
- MIDI To - 'Teensy MIDI'
- Channel - the channel of the controller (default - 1)
- Select the 'Arm Session Recording' buttons on both the MIDI-in and MIDI-out tracks to allow MIDI messages to be received and sent between the tracks.

12Configure Turnado
Using the DAW / plugin host software project setup in the last step, open the Turnado instance editor and configure the following settings:
- MIDI Learn the software controls - right-click each of the 8 knobs, dictator fader, mix slider, and randomise button, and for each select 'Learn' and then move the control on the controller you want to control the software control. Once the software control starts responding to hardware control movements the MIDI learn has been successfully assigned.
- Go to 'Settings' and set the following values:
- 'CC Recall Lock' to on
- 'Ignore Program Change' to off
- 'Activate MIDI out' to on, not per preset
