I went over the design with a rested eye and everything looked good to go - hope it makes it in time to test, but I call it verified since it's working in my #LAMEBOY - another ESP12 handheld already anyway. I used super-swift but I was too cheap for upgrading the shipping :D

me too, it sounds a bit pricey if you compare it to a diode solution. But then again you can't really compare that to a diode solution :D
Well, I just use the power switch to switch between battery and usb -- no diode :)
@ꝺeshipu wouldn't you reset / restart your gadget that way?
Sure, but I don't mind. I guess I could add a large capacitor if I wanted to prevent that.
