Induction Motors and how to control them
08/12/2021 at 17:26 • 0 commentsInduction Motors are playing a crucial role in our everyday lives, by powering up numerous industrial plants and systems from simple AC Blowers to very complicated and enormous Mine Excavation machines, they've been around dating back to 1887, but just recently due to the advent of Digital Signal Processing we have the chance to control them with the advanced methods like Field Oriented Controls.
Here in this article, we are discussing in detail the internal structure of the AC Induction motors and how they are controlled by VFDs and more explicitly how the Field Oriented Control is done with these Motors, we also show here a comprehensive dynamic modeling of an AC Induction motor with Squirrel case structure which can help in understanding them better.

ESC for Raspberry Pi in Sensor-less Mode [FOC enabled]
06/29/2021 at 07:34 • 0 commentsA new video showing how one can simply set up and run your low-inductance fast brushless motor using Raspberry Pi and SOLO in sensorless Mode to reach up to 30,000RPM of mechanical speed.
The Raspberry Pi interfaces SOLO using UART and puts SOLO in Digital Mode and send and receives commands through the Raspberry Pi Python library written for SOLO. -
Brushless Motor Torque Control with Raspberry Pi and SOLO in Python | HALL Sensors Mode
06/25/2021 at 18:06 • 0 commentsThis video shows how to simply control the Torque of a BLDC motor on Raspberry Pi using Python programming with SOLO.
The method is done using Hall sensors mounted on the Brushless DC motor and it offers precise and bidirectional torque control.
Raspberry Pi sends all the commands through its UART line to SOLO and SOLO will take care of the delivering power and controlling the Torque of the BLDC in closed-loop mode.
