System tested on a bridge. This is the GPR image obtained for the bridge in the photo:
System tested and works fine.
Antenna coupling is quite high. Would be nice placing the antennas at a bigger distance from each other, or using more directive antennas in order to reduce unwanted coupling.
This is how the electronic boards are stacked.

Hi Mike;
Just a thought:
Do you think most of the RF and display functions could be performed using the very cool "tinySA" spectrum analyzer, (about $70 us)?
It has a built in RF output port that can track, with or without offset, from the input port. It can be controlled through a USB cable and display on a PC.

Projet.frogdv,
Have you completed all your modifications as of yet? I would like to see all your alternative approaches on this project. Especially involving some of the hard to find components, antennas and the LCD . It's all quite intriguing! Maybe link a new project page in order to keep some of the cross confusion down if possible.
I like very much , I have some Q, 1, from the picture of scan bridge ,which is the water?
2, what the antenna size ,and how to contact the board?
sorry for my poor english
I am an amateur and I find your project really interesting. I have a dumb question. I don't understand the role of LF, RF board. Can you please explain?

You program Arduino with the Arduino IDE. Sampling is limited to SCL = 400kHz. For safe frequency stabilization in the JTOS-850VW, it would be necessary to add in line No. 400 'delayMicroseconds(1);'. Although this will increase the sampling period to 500 us, it will not change anything in the work system. A *.dat file is just raw data on an SD card for use in any other graphics program that supports GPR, it can be read in a text editor or Exel.
Hello
Regarding the screen I have located this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihbLaOd3x8I
that a 7 inch screen LCD DMT80480T070_03WT. with SD memory slot , price is in the 100USD which is reasonable .
Do you think / can you confirm that a possible solution even wth some software mods
Regards
Hello , thanks for sharing your work I have check as I have make already somme works on VCO , It seems your control your VCO by using the pin 5 which is a normal way but your OPAMP OP1077 is powered in 12V from your LT3421 only so your output voltage cannot be over 12V but to reach 900 MHz you need 18V to reach 794 MHz with your VCO at 12V you are at 793 MHz ( 25 deg C ) . That just a question as your design is clever and afordable I plan to redesign the PCB to use a more common CVCO55BE-0400-0800 and cheaper VCO , another point to help is to feed the VCO and the OPAMP with low noise voltage , check http://www.cqham.ru/projects/voltage_regulator_noise/finesse_20voltage_20regulator_20noise.htm . I will post my PCB modification and results , thanks again for your work .
Hello! The LT1077 OpAmp is powered from the LT3461 output voltage, which is 1.255 * (1 + R10/R11) = 23.84V.
Hello , Great thanks for clarification regarding the LT3421 , I am in process to modify the PCB to use the CVCO55 (CVCO55CW-0400-0800 which run from 0V to 12V and can cover 390 MHz to 929 MHz just before max voltage 12V and cost 22 Euro from Mouser ) powered also in 5V as now china import are heavily taxed in EC and starting price your original VCO is over 50 USD per unit , . I plan to use 24 DC lithium battery ( available electrical bike battery ) so I need to design an additional PSU board I try to avoid to redesign too much in the aim to reach quick as possible a working system by using available already designed circuits.
Question : have you tested the maximum deepness you can reach with your setup
I have a CAD design for a 250 to 950 MHz Vivaldi antenna on 1.6 mm FR4 I will post it , this antanna have been test ( S11 value ) , out side dims are similar to your antenna
Regards
The link you have provided is not working can you share it again here or in my email id: eltonshalin@gmail.com
Hi, earlier uglychicken wrote: “Could the CVCO55CW-0400-0800 be used in place of the JTOS-850VW+??” I too am finding it difficult to source and JTOS and am not sure of a suitable alternative.... anyone using something different or know of a source I can order from? I am working on modifying the code to work with different LCDs, I will post in a week or so when I have things working.....
Thank you, sir, for your response and attention
But is it possible to download some pictures of antennas from inside the plastic box.
Thanks Mirel. Also would it be possible to upload some photos of your existing antennas inside the box plastic ? Especially where the TX and RX feeds are connected.
GPRino is very good - please help send me pictures of electronic boards from top and bottom.
Very interesting project.
Congratulations for the simple design.

Sir, how do you make a 3d that tries to take care of things under the ground. Please make something like that. It is very valuable.. diagrams and. Will you make a video showing all the equipment... we hope. For example, secret imager 3d, (uxo mini underground imaging detector), easy way detector, produced by Adrenaline Company, can be named...they are umbrellas. Easy to use. How to make such a device.. Do the project and show it. Good luck to you, happy for you.
