This session we met a problem with the magnet and the little iron balls used as weight.
They don’t stick each other so we decide to change it and resolve a previsious problem.
After linking the magnet with the gantlet, we seen that they was attract so to resolve it we changed the magnets roles and use it to connect a bag to a pocket.
We inclued 2 pockets with a magnet on each bottom of the pockets to link 2 closed bag filled by small balls.
Those balls also contain a magnet with can be attract to the bottom of the pocket who will protect the user by bag falling when the user work.
Additionally, a ring was attached to make it easier for her to control the weight.
we made exercise equipment using fabric, iron beads, wire, Velcro, etc.
This week end we started to link magnet and the gantlet but we meet different problem about magnets .
the magnets link together and we didn’t expect this problem before.
The velcro doesn’t looks like the one we were thinking of but it’s working.
Moreover Yousrah have some difficulty to close the gantlet and the project don’t look like simple as imaginate. A large gauntlet was made to allow her hand to fit easily, but this made it difficult for her to hold the instrument in place. So we reduced the size of the gauntlet.

We once again remembered her needs and inconveniences.
we are trying to resolve the problems we are facing and we will improve the gantlet the next session.
Based on the fourth attempt, we decided to make a prototype. Velcro and magnet materials were used.
In addition, in order to fix the exercise equipment using the thumb, the Velcro was made in the following shape.
We attached these Velcro loops to both ends of the fabric.
We attached this fabric to the gloves. It is a method of wrapping the fabric around the arm and fixing it. So we started sewing gloves.
We learned more about how to use a sewing machine. The gloves are almost complete. The photos are as follows:
And before, we chose to attach a large piece of metal to the glove, but we considered that the pointy piece could be dangerous and that it would be inconvenient because it is not flexible. So we will create weight by putting a small steel bead in the pocket. We decided to discuss the shape of the pocket and what method is convenient for attaching the padding to the gloves next time. We will also discuss how to attach and place the magnet to the glove.
At the beginning of the class, we talked about different problem that Youssrah can find, like the wrist problem for exemple when she start the work out, weight can prevent blood circulation. There is also the problem to with the hand because the hole is too big.

also we thought about weight part. we will make a hole in weight and put magnets . It can attach on a glove.
First, we talked to users to get feedback on the prototype we created.

Based on these, we started building the next prototype. We decided to make gloves with larger holes. Tools were needed to fit the hole into the user's wrist. Through conversations with users, we learned that they preferred scotch bands to zippers, so we decided to go for it.
Divide the hand part of the glove into three parts and support the fingers at the ends. Scotch band number 1 is worn between the fingers to support the hand, and band number 2 is worn around the wrist to support the hand
We decided to make a real prototype using fabric. The first method was proposed to sew with two sketches, and the second method was proposed to sew with one sketch. The first method had the disadvantage of requiring a long time to sew, but it was able to achieve the desired shape well. The second method was quick to make, but it was somewhat complicated to sketch.
Feedback
The actual sewing was difficult and we wanted to shorten the time it took.
We decide to make fitness equipment. First, we should research about our tool’s user. so we asked to her what she’ve gotten hard to use a fitness equipment.

Based on these problems and needs, we designed several prototypes.
This design is putting fingers into holes. We expect it will be easy to hold without adhesive part. But It was determined that lifting was impossible due to excessive force being applied to the wrist.
This design was created to relieve strain on the wrist. Insert an entire hand into the large hole, secure it to arm, and then use a dumbbell to tie a band around wrist. We found a problem. That means that when a person moves their arms, the dumbbells move easily, causing discomfort.
Finally, We came up with a type of exercise equipment that separates the gloves and the weights. The glove and weight are attached with magnets. This can be adjusted by wearing gloves and attaching a weight one by one. It was expected that the stable shape of the glove would be appropriate to support the weight. Additionally, the fact that she can adjust the weights by attaching them one at a time will help you gradually strengthen her muscles. We actually created the design using a cardboard box.

1) The cardboard is not wide enough.
2) The material is too hard and has no flexibility.
3) There is not enough support for the thumb.
Based on this feedback, we will make the next attempt.
