I had a handful of leftover displays and connectors from a project, and also a bunch of mechanical keyboard switches. Hence is born the Discrete deck!

Most streamdecks (including the eponymous product) are actually a single display under a frame with a lot of pass-through buttons. Or in some cases, just a touchscreen!

What was appealing to me about doing this with discrete parts is that it could arbitrarily take any shape as well as could use whatever mechanical switches you wanted. Do you like Clicky at 70g of force? Maybe you prefer Linear with just 30g of force. Maybe you want only 2mm of travel. Or 5mm! If you can find a compatible switch, you can use that.
