The OOKLONE device allows you to capture RF signals (or frames) from equipments operating on the 433.92MHz frequency, and replay them at a later time. This way, you can clone the original equipment functionality. Such equipments include device remote controllers. In its current implementation, the device includes:
. standalone power supply using 3x LR03 batteries,
. a flash memory to store the captured frames,
. a selection switch to select the frame,
. 2 buttons for playing and recording frames,
. a serial link for development purposes.

A next iteration of the device will focus on implementing mechanisms to defeat anti replay schemes in some extent. Also, proper schematics and CAO files for a 3D printed case will be added.

  • 1 × MOTEINO board with RFM69 option handle signal capture, pulse slicing and replay
  • 1 × lm317 Power Management ICs / Linear Voltage Regulators and LDOs
  • 3 × LR03 batteries batteries
  • 2 × buttons record and play a frame
  • 1 × switch turn the power on off

Hello I know this was a long time ago but I've just one question, do you need to record the signal or is there a way to bruteforce it?

I probably should have waited for your results from seedstudio, but I went ahead and sent your sch files over OshPark. Ill post my results once I receive the PCB in the mail. I look forward to testing your OOKlone unit and experimenting with anti replay circuits. As your time permits, please continue to post updates, this project has me really excited! Thanks for your hard work!

I hope the PCB is correct ... I did not have as much time as I wanted to review everything in details and there were some tradeoffs to make it fit the 50x50mm frame. I will post results, please let me know yours.

Awesome project! This has been my favorite on HaD projects so far. The demo videos are excellent. I'm surprised you didn't get into the semifinals, but the projects that made it were pretty nuts too. Anyway, I hope you keep working on this project! I'd love to see how it develops.

Thanks for the support. As you said, projects that made it are generally very good at least, so I am not surprised OOKLONE was not selected, even if I hoped it would have been :) I have a few features to add, plus schematics and possibly a 3D printed case, so stay tuned :)

Thanks for your interest. I will make a cleaner and more complete version after I played a bit with the prototype. The core component will still be a RFM69 chipset. I may change the ATMEGA328 for a CORTEX, but will try to keep the code portable. Stay tuned !

I curious as to how the data comes out of the RF module... is it noisy as with the cheaper modules? O-Scope screen shot?

Good question, I do not know about the SNR. I will have a look at the spectrum with RTLSDR and post info.
