I made the wheel bearing cap for the Renault Espace III (Type JE). The original part had a big crack in it.
Our local service station couldn't get the part because the car is to old. So i measured the cap on the other wheel and printed a new one.
The part is printed in flexible filament.
The main purpose of this cap is to keep the grease on and in the wheel bearings. This protects it from water and rusting. Bearings love grease :)
If you want to do that you need some thick grease. Preferably bearing grease. And use a lot.
More grease = more better.
The cap now holds up for the 3rd week of daily use and will probably hold up for much longer
This is an enter for a Student Project

My parents used tape to seal everything. It worked too, but a new cap is a much cleaner solution.

You can print this without supports. I used flexible filament (TPU) to print the cap. This prevents the hooks from snapping off when you insert the cap. Use a ton of grease. The cap on the other side was full of it.
Looks good. Can I modify this Grease model for my grease trap to make it faster?
