A long journey through the Internet. I found another open source glass. Android Glass. A few components ill try out, square prism, bone conductor, etc .
http://www.myopenglass.com/make_en/stepbystep_en/
CHIP pro still in dev on the CSI connector for the camera, https://bbs.nextthing.co/t/c-h-i-p-pro-camera-module/14952
while I wait until a CSI camera module gets supported Ill dive into another way using
A6C GPRS camera board
This time I will aim for a sub 100$ price point chip pro smartglass, maybe even 50$.
Just received my CHIP dev kit, yesterday and dived in, and it doesn't support composite video out on the board (only the cpu chip itself, requires hardware redesign). This is good because theres more room for experimentation.
A large number of requests for making swappable boards.Currently ill be working with CHIP Pro dev kit.
and redesigning the board (ill probrably need help)
designing your own PCB with C.H.I.P. Pro, with open sourced the Dev Kit design files, available here
Just doing quick research throwing possible ideas together. nothing major

Yes the FLCos display range i would usually buy around 39$ on Ebay but they ran out lol. The cheapest one i found is http://www.hobbywow.com/en-fpv-monocular-video-glasses-goggle-mini-monitor-support-av-in-p239024.htm for 59$ at a 320x240 resolution. Anything higher than that is around 200$+ . In this case I'm looking out for Micro oled Amoled displays since they use less battery drain.
I haven't heard of the Vufine+ until recently.I don't know if the Vufine is true to the advertisement. I noticed in the comments in the kickstarter some people are complaining about the focus point on the Vufine+ that its 20cm. If the eyebox is small just replace it with a penta prism or box prism beamsplitter with double convex glass lens to adjust the focal point on the Vufine+ along with better clarity.
Still haven't heard back but did find this thread online:

Assuming nothing has changed, we're looking at around $1500 per sample for the optical engine plus an HDMI interface.
Did you get anywhere with sourcing a SO-H370HM or similar LCoS module from the mf? I wouldn't mind getting a couple myself.
I just sent an email to the manufacture about spec sheet and prices of the LCoS modules in senseye. I hope the prices are not sky high on them.

You may be able to combine the prism from this project: https://hackaday.io/project/18033-raspberry-pi-zero-prism
With an FLCoS display like these: http://www.yoycart.com/seller/xunchuang88/
The prices for those FLCoS displays are quite high, especially when you consider that it's just a bare board and optical engine. For $200 you can buy a Vufine+ and strip it for the display, and you also get a battery power system and HDMI interface without spending more. https://store.vufine.com/collections/all
I have a Vufine+ and am thinking of buying a second one to take apart. It's OK as it is, but the eyebox is quite small, the optics are so-so, and it's difficult to get it positioned correctly.
I purchased a prism as well as lenses but I'm still waiting for the prism to arrive.
