HaLiTerm Prototyping Addon

A breakout-protoboard combo with status LEDs for the handheld Linux terminal.

Similar projects worth following
This is a breakout board and protoboard in one for convenient access to the GPIO pins on my handheld Linux terminal. The GPIO connector is compatible with the 24 Pin header of the NanoPi NEO/NEO2/NEO Air. The GPIO status LEDs are driven by logic buffers and have their own 3.3V regulator to avoid draining current from the GPIO pins.

// Background

This is the first addon for my handheld Linux terminal. The GPIO pins on the back of the terminal are rather inconvenient to connect with a breadboard. A front-facing addon over the display with GPIO connectors and a breadboard would turn it into a compact handheld prototyping device.

It is also a good excuse to keep practicing PCB design and try SMD soldering.

    I finished soldering the board and started testing it. I realized, that I have switched up pin 11 and 22. I wanted to order it in black anyway...

    The PCBs have finally arrived today, so I was excited to start soldering. Fitting to the epic series of unlucky events I am experiencing recently, I have received 6.2k Ohm resistors instead of 390 Ohm ones. Patience is a virtue...

    Update - I soldered together what I could and I am very happy that it works. The LEDs powered by 5mA are a little too bright. I need to start tweaking the resistor values.
